Sylvia’s kittens are 11 days old today, and have made great progress – eating, sleeping, and growing! Everyone’s eyes are open now – ears starting to come up, and they are increasingly active. Already they have turned into tiny cats-in-waiting, doted on by their mum and Grandma Saffy, who has been keeping Sylvia company in the kittening box. They doubled their birth weight within their first week and have been very well fed by Sylvia – making excellent gains every day. After a few days, as expected, Sylvia moved them to the second kittening box that was setup in our bedroom. The next “event” will probably be when the kittens are able to climb out of their box – at which point we’ll encourage Sylvia to take up residence in a larger “nest” with an open top but sides that kittens won’t be able to scale quite yet.

We’ll post another update in a week’s time – Mike & Lizzi
