Back on track with the Sunday updates! What have we noticed this week? Well, the big news is that the variety of squeaks and “meep meep” noises we’ve been used to hearing from the kittens over the last few weeks have suddenly become quite grown-up MIAOWs – albeit about an octave up from the rest of the family. We’re also getting very synchronous purrrring at considerable volume which is a lovely trait of their dad Ecco.
The kittens seek people out much more often now – and visitors this week have enjoyed meeting them very much. Lizzi’s parents, who until recently bred Abyssinians and also inspired us to get involved with Tonkinese, were very taken with them all, and a family who came on Saturday enjoyed having Lottie and Dulcie drop off to sleep whilst they were being stroked.
Saffy has started to show a slight bulge which is a good sign with just over 5 weeks to go, although she might just have been scoffing kitten food and not letting on! That seems unlikely though as the kittens continue to rocket upwards (and outwards) and we’re very pleased with their progress. On Wednesday, they’re off to have their second vaccinations and final health checks, and Sylvia is due her boosters so she’ll come along too this time.
