It’s one year today since Saffy’s first litter was born and we’re very pleased to share these updates and wish everyone a very happy 1st birthday!
Barty & Basil
These handsome boys are living it up in Edinburgh, and best pals with Lola, Laura & Peter’s older tonk. Barty has become a non-stop talker and stalker – whilst Basil is quieter and just watches from the side line. Both are fabulous and affectionate and everybody falls in love with them 🙂 Click on the pictures below to launch a full-screen gallery:
Bluebell & Simba (Flora & Freddie)
Bluebell & Simba live in Cheltenham, and their owner Vanessa has told us: “You’ll be pleased to hear that they have grown in to very affectionate, patient and characterful cats. Simba is a complete softy, loves a cuddle and is a lot bigger (heavier!) than Bluebell. Bluebell is much more lively, is very talkative and is much slimmer than Simba. She plays fetch with her toys. They love each other very much and they play lots and always cuddle up together. They both enjoy (esp. Simba) listening to a bedtime story on Zoë’s bed, which she loves and they are very patient with her! She loves to pick them up and make sure they absolutely sit on her knee! They completely comply and have never scratched her in trying to get away, which is telling of their lovely character.”
Twiglet lives with Matt, Chloë and their dog Stimpy a stone’s throw from the sea-front in Brighton. We were telling them how talkative Hercules can be, and Chloë replied: “I think their very talkative nature must be a family trait. Twiglet has a distinctive ‘mau!’ that she employs at any and all opportunities. When she wants to play, when she wants hugs, when Stimpy is ignoring her, when Matt leaves, when I leave, when either of us comes home and mostly when we won’t get up and she is forced to employ nose vigorous nose licks. 🙂 She’s also a much better guard dog than Stimpy. As soon as the front gate squeaks she’s down the stairs and at the window mauing loudly at whoever it may be.” We always felt that Bella was the most beautiful kitten and the image of Saffron as a kitten – but take a look at how she’s grown up. We are SO proud!
Hercules stayed home with the other Chorus Cats and like Twiglet is the most talkative Tonk we know. He’s still a kitten at heart – his favourite pastime is to wake us up to play fetch with his friends skinny lion, skinny elephant, or skinny monkey who are his favourite toys. To wake us, he first drops them in a water bowl, and when they are good and soggy, drops them on our faces whilst we sleep. Sigh 🙂 Herc is a super-affectionate boy and loves to lie in your arms having his tummy rubbed – and he’s best of friends with everybody.
We’re contemplating another litter early next year – subject to the availability of a suitable stud boy – we’ll keep you updated 🙂 Thanks to everyone for sharing your wonderful pictures and giving us permission to post them online – it’s been great to know how well everyone’s been getting on.
